Most Popular Tea in the US
by: Ann Trenton

I agree that black tea is popular. Most Americans prefer their tea served cold especially in regions that experience long, hot summer days.

Tea bags are also a more preferred choice than loose tea leaves because of the fast-paced lifestyle of many Americans particularly those living in the city although loose tea is also gaining popularity.

Most Popular Tea Type in U.S.
by: Jules Sowder

Black tea is recognized as the most popular type of tea consumed in the U.S.

Americans most often prepare tea by steeping packaged tea bags rather than using high quality loose leaf black tea blends. This is likely because of the time savings and easy availability of tea bags.

Though loose leaf teas are gaining in popularity and demand, as more tea drinkers come to appreciate the increased flavor and health benefits provided by loose leaf teas.

Also interesting about U.S. tea drinking habits is that Americans consume far more iced tea than hot tea.

I hope this answers your question.
