Better Not Use It For Coffee Too
by: Connie

Your coffee pot would need to be dedicated to brewing tea only. I have used the big urns to heat water then make individual cups of tea using tea filters. This is convenient at large gatherings.

We sometime volunteer our services to supply loose leaf tea charity gatherings and use the large urn prepare the water.

Tea in a Coffee Pot
by: Deb

I brew loose leaf tea in my coffee pot every day at work. It works great for me. I don't care for the little (or big) floating pieces when I use a tea ball, so this takes care of it for me.

Thoughts About Brewing Tea in a Coffee Maker
by: ValerieP

That's a good question. Tea connoisseurs will tell you that using a coffee maker will yield an inferior tasting tea. And brewing is actually quite simple. Click here for brewing instructions for different types of tea -- black tea, green tea, oolong (wulong) tea, white tea, and herbal infusions.

With that being said, people do use coffee makers to make tea. And if you want ... give it a shot. You can try putting tea bags in the basket of the coffee maker. Or you may want to experiment with quality loose tea in the basket, along with a filter.

Then see if you like the outcome (the taste of your tea) compared to traditional brewing methods. Even do a "blind taste test" for fun. In the end, is what you like that really matters. Because tea is to be enjoyed!!!
