Question: About tea bags

I really enjoy flavored teas, and have up until recently, always squeezed the bag to get the last drop out. But not to long ago, I read that this should never be done because of the tannins,or something. What did I miss, or is this not correct? Does it hurt to squeeze the bag, or not?
